Access and Traffic Flow

 

Strategically located in Southern Middle Tennessee, Franklin County sits in one of the fastest growing regions in the nation. Franklin County is benefitting from ongoing transportation improvements.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION 


Businesses which depend upon ground transportation have direct access to I-24 North/South Bound Highway.Having this interstate system provides Franklin County Business with interstate transportation access.The relocating and reconstructing of US Highway 64, will provide a four lane highway which connects I-65 to I-24. Rail transportation is provided by CSX with the only railway transportation connecting Chattanooga, TN to Nashville.The railway runs thru the cities of Estill Springs, Decherd, and Cowan.

 


AIR TRANSPORTATION


Nashville International Airport
Nashville International Airport is host to sixteen airlines which operate 380 flights daily to 89 markets and 49 non-stop markets. Airfield has 4 runways of up to 11,000 feet, including parallels for simultaneous landings and takeoffs. Yearly passengers are estimated more than 11 million passengers per year and cargo transportation of 75 thousand tons.


Huntsville International Airport
Huntsville International is host to six airline carriers with nonstop flight destinations to 12 cities throughout the United States. The Airport is also home to the International Intermodal Center which services international cargo flights to six international sites and six national sites.


Winchester Municipal Airport

Winchester Municipal Airport is host to 2 runways that can accommodate medium intensity aircraft with single wheel up to 30,000 lbs and double wheel up to 42,000 lbs. Yearly airport operations average 5,096 or 98 operations per week. The Winchester Airport offers a variety of services including air charter, air taxi, corporate aviation, freight operations, business and recreational flyers.

Our Mission

The mission of the Chamber is to improve the business climate and quality of living in Franklin County for residents, workers and visitors. It provides valuable services to business and civic leaders who represent the backbone of the Franklin County business community. 


Our Goal

Everyday the Chamber answers phone calls, email messages,  mail requests, and business meetings with information about the community. The Chamber has formed alliances with industry and business leaders, sister chambers, government agencies at the local state and national levels to accomplish its goals of business and community service which promotes quality of life in Franklin County.


Our Promotion

The Chamber also promotes networking, educational forums, events, and produces the Franklin Times Newsletter and hosts a Chamber website which is the State Recognized official website of Franklin County. The website registers #1 on Google for Franklin County Chamber and #2 on Yahoo.  In the first year and a half we are reaching nearly 1 million visitors!
