The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is glad to be the administrator of Franklin County's Three Star Program. The goal of our Three Star Program is to maintain existing employment, create new employement opportunities, increase family income, improve the quality of life, and create a strong leadership base for Franklin County.
Franklin County's Three Star Designation is one of the County's most valuable assests when recruiting new business and industry at the state level. The program is to provide community the opportunities to attract new business and developement and improve the overall quality of life in Franklin County.
Since being recognized as a "Certified Three Star Community," Franklin County undergoes an annual review by Tennessee ECD professionals to ensure that we have met criteria to maintain the accredidation. To achieve these goals designated by The State of Tennesssee, the Franklin County County Chamber of Commerce gathers information provided by business leaders, aministrative and governing leaders to maintain this accredidation every year.

The Joint Economic & Community Development Board of Franklin County, Tennessee is an economic development agency. The communities of Franklin County, Tullahoma, and Monteagle comprise the JECDB and participate in funding of the organization. The JECDB is focused on industrial, office, retail and business recruiting.
In addition, the JECDB serves the existing business base for all of Franklin County through business retention efforts and expansion efforts. Much of these efforts are accomplished through the Existing Industry Forum and serving as an information source for local businesses. The organization serves as an economic development organization for Franklin County and is administered by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.

Strategically located in Southern Middle Tennesse, Franklin County sits in one of the fastest growing regions in the nation. Franklin County is benefitting from ongoing transportation improvements.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Businesses which depend upon ground tranportation have direct access to I-24 North/South Bound Highway. Having this interstate system provides Franklin County Business with interstate transportation access. The relocating and reconstructing of US Highway 64, will provide a four lane highway which connects I-65 to I-24.
Rail transportation is provided by CSX with the only railway transporation connecting Chattanooga, TN to Nashville. The railway runs thru the cities of Estill Springs, Decherd, and Cowan.
AIR TRANSPORTATION
Nashville International Airport
Nashville International Airport is host to sixteen airlines which operate 400 flights daily to 89 markets and 49 non-stop markets. Airfield has 4 runways of up to 11,000 feet, including parallels for simultaneous landings and takeoffs. Yearly passengers are estimated at almost 9 million passengers per year and cargo transportation of 75 thousand tons.
Huntsville International Airport
Huntsville International is host to six airline carriers with nonstop flight destinations to 12 cities throughout the United States. The Airport is also home to the International Intermodal Center which services international cargo flights to six international sites and six national sites.
Winchester Municiple Airport
Winchester Munciple Airport is host 2 runways that can accomodate medium intensity aircraft with single wheel up to 30,000 lbs and double wheel up to 42,000 lbs. Yearly airport operations are averages of 5,096 or 98 operations per week. The Winchester Airport offers a variety of services including air charter, air taxi, corporate, freight, business and recreational flyers.

Arnold Engineering Development Center is the world’s largest and most complex collection of flight simulation test facilities.The 4,000 acres that comprise AEDC are part of the 40,000 acre Arnold Air Force Base. The base was dedicated June 25, 1951 by President Harry S. Truman.
